Common questions
Where is my data kept?
On your iPhone, and nowhere else. QuestDo has no account and no server, so there's nothing to log in to and nothing stored under your name.
The one exception is optional quest scoring — see the privacy policy for exactly what that sends and to whom.
I deleted the app and lost everything. Can you restore it?
Unfortunately not. Because your quests only ever exist on your device, we have no copy to restore from — nobody at IT Duck can see your data, which is the trade-off for it never being uploaded.
Your data is included in iPhone backups. If you restored a backup made before you deleted the app, your progress should come back with it.
How do I turn quest scoring on or off?
Profile → AI classification. The toggle takes effect immediately, and you can switch it back whenever you like. With it off, quests are worth a flat 2 XP each and nothing leaves your device.
Why did my quest get the XP it did?
Scoring judges two things: how demanding the work is, and roughly how long it takes. It deliberately ignores how you word it — calling something "urgently optimise the comprehensive architecture" when it's tidying a desk still scores as tidying a desk.
The same quest is worth the same to everyone, which is the whole reason it isn't a number you type in yourself.
Can I get my data onto another device?
Not yet. QuestDo doesn't sync, so each device keeps its own progress. Restoring an iPhone backup onto a new phone does carry your data across.
How do I delete everything?
Profile → Reset all progress, which erases every quest, skill, level and attached photo on the device. You'll be asked to confirm twice, because it can't be undone. Deleting the app removes everything too.
